June Whitfield is my ideal Miss Marple.

I was shattered after Lucie left Tuesday evening. She had been shopping for me and acquired four weeks of shopping, for me and Dad: having gone shopping for me after work, going to both Sainsbury's and Azda. By the time I'd put it away I'd been quite breathless, so took the rubbish out, to enjoy the cold night air.

The full moon brought with it, more gales, wind and dark days. Then as the days went by the only thing that was different was my need to eat. Yet when I had eaten a meal that I truly wanted, it'd taken days to digest. Sometimes when people say that they desire my money, that I get for being sick, I think they should enjoy, or endure a taste of my life.

And yes, I do feel more than a tad bitter at times. It saddens me at times that all around me, there are those who seek to control me and my life, such is the nature of the society I live in now: everyone has an opinion and, none of them have a goddamn clue.

On Saturday an HP tech support rang, in response to my letter to HP, name of David. I had gone through all the checks requested, including sending verification of the printer problem via scan then email.
David rang back in response at about 14:00 “The issue cannot be resolved, 'new' printer will be supplied under warranty...”
Then hours later, I'd got an email from HP, telling me that there'd be a delay with the delivery, due to a lack of supply. That'd got a laugh out of me: HP having a lack of HP machines.

There are bonus's: I like my Doctor Who audio's on order, to be delivered and, have recently acquired more Dark Shadows audio's, a continuation of the old teevee show and, I've really grown to like them.

Saturday I'd not slept well all-night, until about 7:00 when the radiators came on. The next night had been similar, albeit there'd been a gale blowing most of it, which I'd treated as natures symphony, just for me. And, I'd slept, quite well, for most of the night, only waking when it began to rain. When it stopped it was about 6:30 and time to put the grey recycling bin out, ready for 7:00 as intended and, later collection. Then when the radiators came on, I'd fallen into a deep sleep, waking hours later.

Days passed, then another email from HP arrived, giving a date when the replacement machine would arrive, the day before my birthday.

And I'd also noted with annoyance, that when my right big-toe lost it's bruising I still couldn't move it, which confirmed a supposition; it had been fractured, or broken. With experience of fractured ribs, I realised I'd have an ineffective toe for quite awhile. But with covid cases swamping hospitals, as ever I figured my knowledge of self is as good as any medical treatment I'd be offered.

Well, there'd been yet another email from HP, giving the tenth as the delivery date; yet on the ninth it had arrived.

“I didn't expect you till tomorrow,” I'd said the the delivery man.

“Funny,” he'd retorted with a grin, “you're the third person to say that to me.”

And, for days the unopened box sat in the backroom, as I'd felt loathe to go through the hassle I knew would ensue. As it was, I'd been right. None of the automatic settings initially worked, to the point where despair had begun to set in. I'd already had a bad morning in the bathroom, so had little patience to spare. Yet, with more than a little perseverance, I'd got the hardware and software to work on my old Dell, the one I use for downloading. That still left three machines to set up after that.

I got three of them finished, by the end of the evening, deciding the last of them could wait until the next day, or perhaps the day after...

So it was I chose to ignore the storm outside as I had typed, listening to several short sci-fi stories, prior to entering the kitchen, to see about soup.

Prior to seeking my bed, I'd listened to some Miss Marple, finding pleasure in the stories; much as I had when I'd first got into my audio stories originally. To me, June Whitfield is my ideal Miss Marple.
